SUMMARY
This webcast will focus on the knee & ankle region looking at restricted range of movement, local musculoskeletal structures producing pain & distal musculoskeletal structures that can refer to the knee, musculoskeletal injuries/syndromes, postural syndromes & altered biomechanics of the knee & ankle region leading to acute & chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Ideal knee stability is dependant on correct neuromuscular firing patterns & ideal range of motion of multiple muscle groups and joints, the hip & ankle region should always be considered a contributing factor to the clients knee complaint due to the significant impact that the hip & ankle have on the knee joint in regards to altered biomechanics leading to painful musculoskeletal pathologies.
Altered knee mechanics (PFJ) can lead to a number of musculoskeletal conditions/injuries such as PTS, lateral pressure syndrome, ITBFS, patella tendinopathy, popliteal syndrome, hamstring strains, hamstring hypertonicity & so on. Altered biomechanics of the knee & ankle region over a period of time could (especially in individuals that participate in regular activity) lead to ligament laxity due to permanent creep leading to increased joint play that may increase the incidence of acute & chronic injury.
This Webcast will focus on altered biomechanics of the knee & ankle region, assessment & treatment of specific musculoskeletal conditions of the knee & ankle, & specific corrective stretching & corrective exercises for the knee & ankle region to aid in ideal stability & range of motion resulting in the reduction of associated musculoskeletal injuries/conditions.
